Recently I shared a surefire way to increase blogs stats in the form of using BlogLovin as one’s preferred way of subscribing and reading blogs here.
I got lots of positive and helpful comments. One of the comments from Ana over at The Lost Apron simply asked me this:
“I currently use Google Reader which is going away. I like that you can sort blogs also. Will definitely join in. What about my subscribers? How do I get them over?”
My first thought was to answer straight forward and tried my best to do this to Ana on that post. But then the blogger in me had the light bulb go on and thought, “Blog Article!”
So, here are some simple, but easy ways to alert your existing readers, as well as gain some new readers too with adding/claiming BlogLovin to your pre-existing blog.
- Add A BlogLovin Button: Most likely you have a sidebar and have added a widget before. So, now I suggest you add a BlogLovin Button to that sidebar with a text widget.
- Write Up a Post: Once you have signed up for BlogLovin and claimed your blog and added the BlogLovin Button onto your blog, now onto the next step. You should be given a distinct hyperlink that correlates to your own blog when you claimed it.. My suggestion take to your blog now and write up a post back-linking to your new BlogLovin Blog page. This will definitely alert your readers to the fact that you are using BlogLovin and also direct them to where your blog can be found to subscribe to.
- Share on All Social Networks: Now that you have written your post to announce that you use BlogLovin. Be Sure to share it to all your social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and more. The more you put it out there, the better!!
- BlogLovin Blog Hops : Now, that you have alerted your current subscribers/readers to your BlogLovin addition, you may like to branch out and get more readers. I mentioned in my last article that this a good way to do that. One such way is to join BlogLovin Blog Hops. I can here you asking me, “What are some good BlogLovin BlogHops?”
So, to help out a bit on this, I will share a few of my favorite BlogLovin Hops that I join in on. T
I am hoping that this has helped answer some of the questions one may actually have about BlogLovin and how to go about incorporating it into one’s daily use. And thank you again for your insightful question, too!!
Thanks for this, Janine. I have still got to promote that my blog is on bloglovin. Thanks for the tips! Like to direct you to my Pets blog if you'd like to visit. http://petsawarenews.com/?p=137
My pleasure Michelle and am heading over in a moment to check out your Pet blog. Thanks for sharing!! 🙂
I just recently joined bloglovin a couple weeks ago. I wonder if its too late to write a post about it. I love that you can put your fav blogs into groups…I really need to go back and do that.
It is never too late Michelle, because if someone didn't notice you are just bringing it to their attention now. Seriously, you would be surprised how many times something is right in front of my face and I could so miss it. And the groups are truly so helpful and can't agree more!! 🙂
Love this. I am on bloglovin but haven't actively been promoting getting my blog out there.
So happy to share Sara and even just a small amount of promoting can make a world of difference 🙂
Thanks for this, Janine! I will check out these blog hops!!! I have been so happy since switching to Bloglovin'. It has helped keep my inbox more manageable, and lets me sort through the posts I want to read. Sadly, I cannot get to all of them, but I do try. 🙂 Excellent post, as always!
My pleasure truly Dani and I know we have talked about this. And you are right it definitely has made things for me as well more manageable and so happy to share this to help others, too!! 🙂
Ooh, come link up on mine if you haven't. I love your blog!
I totally did and I love your blog, too. Trust me the feeling so so mutual Meg!! Thank you 🙂 🙂
Great tips Janine!
Thanks Alexa and so happy to share!! 🙂
I love BlogLovin', and I have a button, but I haven't written a post about it – I may have to put that on my to-do list. LIke others have said, I love that you can make folders to categorize the blogs you follow. My only issue is that the folders aren't visible on the app, so I can't see them if I check on my iPhone.
My recent post First impressions – what do you notice?
I read mostly on my laptop and do have the app Dana, but didn't even realize it to be honest, because most of the times if I do read from my phone it isn't as many blog left as when I start on my laptiop earlier in the day. But very good and valid point. Hope the developers listen up and remedy that one!!
thanks for the tips and links babe. It was really quite easy to switch over to bloglovin, it really was all done for you. I look for a bloglovin button to easily follow other blogs. Setting up groups and following a blog that does not have bloglovin is so easy. Makes me wonder why I didn't do this sooner.
I know Karen, I felt the same way once I did the move onto BlogLovin and have not looked back since!! 🙂
Thanks Janine! I have been on bloglovin for a while but haven't totally embraced the whole concept because I can't get my daily picture to show up with my post. How do you do that? xoxo
I have been having the same problem Tiffani and I believe it is a feed widget that needs to be downloaded. Am actually looking into this as I write this to you and will update here as soon as I have all the answers. And hope that this will help you and many others, too!! 🙂
Tiffany, I have searched all over the internet on this one and am coming up with it being an issue with us showing summaries on our front pages instead of full text. Apparently Bloglovin Feed can't pick up an image this way. Try going into your dashboard and selecting Settings, then Reading and instead of summaries, change to full text. This apparently will solve the issue at hand. Hope this does and if you need anything else, please don't hesitate to ask!! 🙂
Thanks Janine! Will see if that works without changing the way my blog looks. xoxo
My recent post Why are my muscles sore?
Oh I hope it does work and let me know, Tiffani xoxo 🙂
Great informative post! I've already done these steps as I've had Bloglovin for quite a bit now, but I do need to join into more Bloglovin hops to gain more readers.
Thanks Kera and the BlogLovin Hops are really pretty easy and so happy to get to know a few more this way weekly!! 🙂
Cool! I have never taken part in a blog hop before but maybe… ahahaha I have so many projects to join and time gets limited! There are great tips here 🙂
