Fonts Make or Break An Image – Add Your Own Fonts with PicMonkey

June 17, 2014 by J9 Designs Filed Under: BLOG, Blog Advice

Fonts can make or break a designed image.

Yet, as much as I am a huge fan of Photoshop and use it primarily for my design clients, I still have a go to program for quick design projects, which of course is, PicMonkey, but they have had a limited use of fonts to use up until recently.

Also, I know I have mentioned PicMonkey on my blog here quite often giving them two thumbs up time and again.  For more on them, look here.

Well, now I have to give them another shoutout and share their latest feature add-on for all your design needs.

In the past (as I mentioned above), when you would use them to design, you could only use their limited fonts and even if you subscribed you could only use all the fonts that they had in their font book.

But now all of this has changed for the better!

Now, you can use whatever fonts are indeed uploaded onto your computer.  For me, this is absolutely awesome, as I have so many fonts from all my design work uploaded on my computer.

PicMonkey - Use your own fonts

So, I can now essentially use any of the fonts I have access to on my computer – pretty much to infinity and back with fonts.

Seriously, this is a huge improvement and brings PicMonkey one step closer to being one of the best quick design sites out there for any and all design needs for all – designers included.

As, I know many that read this do already use PicMonkey and are familiar with it, but just in case you are in need of any help on using PicMonkey, click here.

Since I do know how to use PicMonkey, I, of course, had to try this new feature out to make my very, own creation with my own font, loaded onto my very, own computer.  Take a look now and see for yourself how much fun, I had. (By the way, I used Patchfun font that I uploaded recently for a design job).

What do you think?

Do you use PicMonkey?

Will you be using there newest fonts feature?

I think PicMonkey is great, although I don’t use it nearly enough. I think this is a step in the right direction because fonts are one of those things that can make a huge difference in personalizing an image… making it unique. I’ll be checking this feature out for sure!

I have never used picmonkey but you and Julie D. Both seem to love it. I’m so limited in what I can actually do on design and what not. Well you know I’m challenged:) lol. I may have to try it when I get my other bugs worked out.

Very nice! I’m still not using pic monkey. I so wish it was an app. Making a picture graphic is the one thing that gets me away from sitting in front of my computer. I use apps on my phone.
